The art thief - Stik

This was great street art, I mean just look at it. It's such a simple design, but its still cool to look at too. Plus it gets it's point across too, it looks like an art thief.

Leonardo da Vinci

This is a female face, drawn by Leonardo da Vinci. He's one of the greatest artists to ever live, so picking one of his pictures may have been cheating? But regardless of who drew it, you can see how carefully the details on the face have been done. His shading really gives the picture great depth and realism. He has an amazing grasp of the use of line; you can see along the curve of the woman's face how the lines take into into account the bone structure of her cheeks.

This Drawing is made by Stephen Wiltshire. What I like most about this drawing is the way he used line. Especcially in the sky how you can see the cross-hatching, and it creates a lot of depth, and texture. Also the reflection on the water makes the image beautiful and realistic.

This piece of art is by Alex Pardee who is one of my favorite artists. I think it's successful because it uses detailed and angled lines to bring you into the piece. I think it is an interesting take on an average skill because it's not how many people would typically look at one. It's mostly successful because it has a good sense of depth without using shading.

Awaiting the Cue

 In drawing by Degas, I really like his use of line to show the texture in the tutu. I really connect to this piece because I used to dance and so the drawing of ballerinas and their beauty is just something I really love. Like his use of line to show the light reflecting off of the girls hair to show the shininess. I like the way that this drawing doesn't really look like it is all composed of line but it is if you really look close.

Successful because of the realistic feel and original idea. The shading and contrast make it feel 3 dimensional and give the illusion of depth as the man seems to actually crawl through the paper towards us.

The use of Van Gogh's line's are just magnificent. I love how everything flows in not just this piece of art work but in all of his pieces. I have always been interested in Vincent Van Gogh's art work. His work just grabs your eyes and draws you in to one point in the painting and brings you through the painting with all of the line use.
